Prof Govind Narayan Purohit popularly known as GNP Sir among students is the founder of GNP Sir Classes Started in May 2023 has gained wide popularity. Prof Govind Narayan Purohit was born on 6th February in Bikaner, Rajasthan. He worked as the University Head (Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics) and Dean of Post-Graduate Studies at Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, Rajasthan. He completed his BVSc & AH in 1983 from the University of Udaipur, MVSc from MLS University Udaipur with University Gold Medal in 1985, and Ph.D (Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics) in 2001 from Raj Agriculture University, Bikaner, Rajasthan. He is a nationwide popular teacher and researcher with significant contributions in Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics. He has taught 22 professional courses for 37 years and continues the same. He is popular on account of his teaching video lectures on his YouTube channels (Total of 387 videos) both for students and farmers (in Hindi) with more than 1.7 million views. His teaching and research documents (Total of 1015) uploaded at Research Gate and Academia have more than 307k views. He produced the Rajasthan state’s first calf and lamb by embryo transfer. He has authored 244 research publications (1379 pages) and his scholar citations are 2296. He has guided Ph.D (6) and MVSc scholars (25), authored nine books (His two International books Bubaline Theriogenology and Domestic Animal Obstetrics has 1257 pages and 8668 references), received many awards (GB Singh Memorial award twice and Nils Lagerlof Twice), and organized 2 International webinars. Besides this he has to his credit 7 other books. He is the referee to more than 48 journals and editor/co-editor of 11 journals. He has imparted training to many farmers, organized infertility camps, and distributed more than 250 bulls.
